From stability[1] of Proton it is clear that as such free space does not provide any effect for the decay of Proton.But Mathematical formulation of Standard Model indicates that at least Proton should decay in some other situations.
True Proton also decays under certain circumstances,like at tempratures 2700K,27000K,270000K,2700000K and under the influence of Monopolar part of dipolar magnetic field.Such type of situations like T=2700K are common in some peculiar star’s surfaces and in the surfaces of dying Stars.There Proton decays into Positron and neutral phi meson.This neutral phi meson transforms into EM radiation.Note that at temprature 27000000K Proton transforms into micro Black hole.
